FreeWallet Tutorial | A Step-by-Step Comprehensive Guide

Crypto Wallet
Why You Need an Easy Crypto Wallet?
Having a crypto wallet is essential nowadays. Whether you’ve got an online wallet or a Bitcoin USB stick, you are moving with the times.
Whatever kind you have, your wallet represents virtual access to your crypto coins.
With hardware wallets, you usually store the data on a piece of paper and have to synchronize your device to the web from time to time. You have to buy this kind of wallet and as a rule, they are only used for single currencies. If you lose your access data, your funds are irretrievable.
As non-custodial wallets, these wallets leave you as the sole party you can rely on in case there are issues with funds, addresses, or access to your funds. This is not the case with custodial wallets.
The Freewallet Family specializes in producing custodial wallet apps. This kind of service provider takes care of all the technical processes related to crypto for our users. No user-side backup of data is needed as with custodial wallets it is always possible to recover access.
Thanks to its variety of assets, built-in exchange, and easy interface, the Freewallet app takes users on a smooth and comfortable journey to the world of crypto. With this wallet, the only costs you cover are transactional, whereas the company takes care of the rest.
Freewallet will set you free from all kinds of fees that you might incur due to blockchain operations. For example, with Freewallet you won’t need to pay expenses related to starting operations on an EOS account.

Crypto Wallet Use Cases
While the major functions of crypto wallets are well known, we’ll also tell you about some extra options that come with Feewallet. Except for buying, sending/receiving coins, you can manage ERC20 tokens, refill your phone balance and send crypto to your friends for free.
Buy Crypto
If you are considering buying crypto, you can do it directly in these apps with BTC (Bitcoin), ETH (Ethereum), LTC (Litecoin), XRP (Ripple), BCH (Bitcoin Cash), XLM (Stellar), BNB (Binance Coin).
You can buy crypto with USD or EUR. To proceed, just try it out on the Cryptocurrency app.

Send and Receive Crypto
Sending Crypto
Say you want to send some coins to someone. And you want to do a coin-to-coin transfer (for example, BTC-to-BTC wallet, or ETH-to-ETH). To do this, you just need to go to the app’s main page and hit “+” and then “Send.” Confirm the transaction details to continue and check your inbox to validate it.
With your TX ID (you’ll find it in the ‘History’ tab), you’ll be able to track its status in real-time on https://freewallet.org/track.

The big thing here is that with Freewallet you can make fee-free coin transfers to other Freewallet users. To make these transfers, all you need is the email or internal user ID of the recipient to whom you would like to send funds.
Receiving Crypto
Have a friend who’d like to pay you back with crypto? Message him your wallet address and get the money there directly. Go to the main page of your app and click on “Receive.” You’ll find your address. Note: currencies like Binance, Stellar and Ripple require payment ID — make sure to put that down as well.

Crypto-to-Crypto Exchange
Thanks to partnering with Changelly, Freewallet customers have a cross-currency exchange option. In other words, you can top up your crypto wallet with almost any coin supported by the app. Alternatively, you’ll be able to withdraw your coins by converting them to other currencies.
Press the ‘Exchange’ button in our multi-coin app to proceed.
Freewallet has implemented new exchange technology for a list of 54 coins and ERC20 tokens, including BTC, ETH, EOS, and LTC. This type of exchange can be executed in 2-3 minutes and characterized by better rates and enhanced anonymity.

Top up Your Phone with BTC
Got some BTC leftover on your wallet? Why not tack them onto your phone balance?
There is the tool for you. The mobile top-up option in Freewallet is powered by one of the partnering companies and covers more than400 providers in 100 countries.
The image below shows you how to pay for your phone balance with BTC.
Manage Your Tokens
Since 2016, Freewallet has been working with altcoins in addition to Bitcoin. Currently, a wide range of ERC20 tokens are available on the Crypto-currency app (with some EOS chain tokens, such as NUT and EOSDT). And they’ve got more on the way!
Note: please make sure your asset is on this list prior to sending a transaction. Alternatively, you can always ask the Freewallet support team for assistance: https://bit.ly/2rgGdRw

On top of other things, these wallets are perfect for storing your coins. This storage function is especially handy for miners.
Freewallet takes care of safe-keeping while you move on with your daily tasks. Backup of your data is not needed. You can restore access to your account at any time.
Looking for ways to receive donations? You can post your Freewallet web address on social media. This address can be found in “Settings” under “User Details.”

Import/Export Your BTC Balance
With Freewallet, you can import or export your BTC balance. This option only applies to BTC and is available on the web wallet and dedicated BTC app.

Price Data
The app will keep you up to date with all the current market rates. To access this data in a single-currency app, click the arrow sign in the upper left-hand corner of the main page.

To see detailed price data, click on a particular coin in the main tab of your mobile multi-coin app.

It will show High, Average and Low rates and sort prices based on the time frame.
On top of that, the header of the web wallet features a price ticker for Bitcoin and Ethereum.

In the web wallet, this is also the place where you can set the Language and Currency of the app, as well as subscribe to the company’s newsletters, and export/import your BTC balance.

As for the mobile apps, Language and Currency settings are found in the “App preferences.” You can also choose your background here.

Identity
By filling in the ‘Identity’ tab in your account ‘Settings,’ you can obtain “Verified” status. However, the submission of your details is optional.
Fees
Network fees incentivize the acceptance and inclusion of transactions in new blocks of the blockchain. Therefore, by paying fees you encourage miners to confirm transactions faster.
You can view the fees of your prospective transactions prior to sending them. The amount of your transaction is also shown in the app before you confirm it.
Freewallet has a fee schedule for BTC payments. There are 4 fee levels. Using the fee levels you can choose whether you want to pay a bit more for your BTC coins to be delivered quicker, or send coins with a lower fee and have them delivered at a later time.
Don’t forget that you can send your coins for free inside our system! Please contact the Freewallet support team for more information on this matter.
Wallet Security
Security Features
The safety of your funds is what the company values the most. There is a sophisticated security structure in place at all times to make sure that your funds will never get into the wrong hands.
PIN Code
Freewallet comes with a mandatory PIN code which you set when your wallet is created. At the moment, multi and mono apps require different PIN codes.
When your app has been idle for a while, you’ll need to confirm your PIN to resume use. Please check out this article for more details on using this feature on Freewallet: https://bit.ly/2AXUXsG
Multi-Signature Protection by Email
With Freewallet, you can double down on the security of your outgoing payments with multiple email addresses. This makes it a requirement for a transaction to receive two or more confirmations by email. If you enable email confirmation, no transaction will be initiated until it is confirmed by every single email included in the chain.
These preferences can be set in “Settings” under “Security” and then “Email confirmation.”

2-Factor Authentication
To enable 2-factor authentication, you can useGoogle Authenticator, Authy, or any other dedicated app.
Feel free to apply 2FA for each login, outcoming, or BTC export transaction. Open “Settings” – “Security” to proceed with 2FA.
Control Your Account
To ensure stricter control over your funds, you can set limits on the amount of your outgoing transactions. A limit can be set for each single currency. In addition, you can monitor login sessions on your account. If you notice an unauthorized login session on it, flag it immediately to cease all suspicious operations and protect your account.
Both options are accessible in “Settings” under “Security.”
Cold Storage
The address you see in your app is a hot wallet address used for receiving transactions. Storing your funds at this address can expose them to risk. Therefore, after you receive funds at the hot wallet address, they are moved to cold storage. Similarly, when you send your funds out, the funds are first transferred from cold storage as well.
Cold storage refers to a secure offline vault. This technology is widely used to maintain the best possible security for customer funds. The same technology helps Freewallet restore access to your account in a fast and efficient way, should it be necessary.
